There's two ways to do this, with a machine translator Module, or a translation manager Component.
For machine translation there are may to choose from:

WARNING!!
A) Machine translation is pretty good, but keep in mind the translation is done by a machine. No matter how good the machine translates, depending on what you have on your site, i.e., complexity of content, grammatical structure, idiomatic expressions, etc., you can wind up with some pretty weird or totally incorrect translations.
Machine translators sometimes skip parts of the site due to coding in Menus, Articles, or Modules. This is not something that can be fixed at the user level, so if you use machine translation and certain parts don't get translated, there no way to fix it in the template to have it do so.
The second way would be to use a translation manager.

After you install Joom!fish, you add the necessary language files for the Joomla core from here:
joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtranslation/frs/
Any language related items in Joomla will be available in any language you install.
Then, you manually translate all your content, Menus, Articles, Modules, etc. through the translation manager.
If you have a site with 'basic' content and use a machine translator, you may be OK, the translations won't be perfect, but 80%+ comprehensible.
However if your site contains technical info, product specifications, technical explanations, etc. a machine translator is practically useless.

(The machine translation totally messes up the translation, I am familiar with the topic, and even for me it's incomprehensible, let alone anyone that is not familiar with the topic.)

Why do only some people have side effects?
Genes are slightly different and unique among humans. There are some gene proteins that relate to drug metabolism while others regulate disease occurrence. That is the reason each patient reacts differently to the same drug;such differences in genes determine individual reactions.
:arrowu: This is really a simple example, but you can see the difference, but the more complex the content gets, the more skewed the the translations become.
If you are not familiar enough with the language you are having a machine translate for you, there's really no way of knowing if it's accurate or not.
Many people use Google translate or some other form of machine translation and tell their clients their site is 'translated into 50 different languages', but most of the time the output from the original language is junk. - Thanks,
