    • Hello everyone!

I like the original freeware version of JA_Purity and wonder if there are any templates you can recommend that are similar in page setup - ie full screen width and two outer columns, and the inner for article content?

I see some of the joomla templates here are more flexible than others ... can you recommend a template?

      With Warmest Regards

      Lynne

    • Lynne, when you say "full screen width", what exactly do you mean? Fixed pixel width or a 100% of screen width?

Hello John, sorry yes I like the fluid width templates that allow the screen width to be at 100%, no matter what size the screen. I recall one of the templates I was looking at had that capacity and I'm sure others do too ... I'd rather be using something that gives that flexibility as an option.

Cheers & thanks too Jem for your input :cheesy:

    • There is no simple way to get fluid width with the Gantry-based templates. There are threads about that in these forums. The reasoning behind fixed width templates basically comes down to the website manager being able to be certain that the articles are displayed in the exact way that she/he wants them to be. It also keeps the text line length at a comfortable size for people to read without moving their heads from side to side. And there are probably also some coding issues as well.

So you can use a pre-Gantry template for fluid width, if you really want to have that ability.

I used to be an advocate for fluid width templates, but I've changed my mind a bit (I now have to use glasses for reading). :)
