    MAMP vs Dreamweaver

Posted 14 years 3 months ago
    • Is there an advantage to using MAMP if you have Dreamweaver CS5?
In case anyone is curious: http://www.mamp.info/en/index.html

Seems to me that if the website is on a host then it's better to just use Dreamweaver to work on the website since it pulls all the files from the host. You make changes and if you like what you've done, you update the files on the host.

The only advantage I can see to using MAMP is if the website is NOT on a host. Also, if you want to test Joomla extensions then using MAMP is good for that.

I'm just thinking out-loud to see if I'm actually missing the point. I'm not too good with either MAMP or Dreamweaver since I just started using them today.

      Your chatter/feedback/opinion is appreciated!

    • I found this, it sort of answers my question...
      michaeldoig.net/11/how-do-you-use-mamp.htm

I just discovered MAMP and I guess if anyone wants to test setting everything up locally before they go live then it's pretty good.

Any tips/hints/suggestions for using Dreamweaver CS5 with Rockettheme Templates?
