    • In spite, that i don't have a developer account, i'll take the trouble if you may me, to post my point of view.

      I think that everything depend of various values, e.g. the envoriment where you are working, the kind of clients that you have, and other stuffs.

      Particulary, in my experience, it's hard to explain to the clients what are the change that have to be suffer the webpage to get the results that they want it. Cause they don't know a lot of of this field like it's the design web.

      So, if you are a webmaster freelance and your contacs are small or medium company, probably you don't need to create a website from cero, cause they are not complex company that have to want they own code or something like that.

      I'll be near to get the year in RT, and it's more practical edit the general stuffs like the styles, languages, custom the general thing that the company need it. But when you design a website from cero, you have to know what are you exactly doing, cause it's very important create website with a order, and with a good schematic, and it's more important if this website will be edit it in the future for other people. Create a webpage since cero it's not easy cause requiere to knowledge in various lenguages, e.g. if you want to create a website with for joomla, or wordpress. Every cms have the tips to make awesome design but, this take a lot of time, to think, to order your ideas, and to think in how to make a good job for your clients.

      Specialy, i'm not a webmaster that have been in class of design web, i'm only a curious woman that in the middle of the time, begin to think in: how the website are create it? And then, decided to investigate more about it, but for me, in this time, it's difficult create a website from cero, for all the things that i wrote. Just, is my opinion.

    • If you want Gantry and a basic template then you can download it from here: code.google.com/p/gantry-framework/downloads/list

      I don't think it's worth the extra time it takes when creating a template from scratch. It's much faster to hack an existing template and the customer won't care as long as you have done a good job :)
