    Custom web fonts

Posted 13 years 7 months ago
    • Hello again to all! After lot of search and reading I really need to give a solution to my problem. Some times my graphic designer uses very nice and eye catching fonts but my problem is how to use them in my templates. He gives me the ttf or otf files but i dont know how to make them alive in my sites and at the end i put them as images. Of course this is not the best solution either for the speed or the search engine results. Can you please help me to understand or give a tutorial how to use custom fonts in my websites, but also to be compatible with all web browsers or at least with the most common ones???
      Thanks in advance.

    • This is a topic one could write books about and it would really be too much to explain it all.
Basically a misunderstanding: The web is not Indesign tell that your designer.

There are 3 links suggest to to visit.

      www.fontsquirrel.com/
Everything arround @fontface-kits (Complete with sets and generators) - free
      We use that too

      www.google.com/webfonts
Gantry is already supporting them - free

      typekit.com/
commercial-service technically almost like google fonts.
      Not supported by RT

    • So if i understand well I can use only web fonts by adding first the link to the basic html file of the site and second adding to my code in the article the font family. Also I can use typekit to the rockettheme templates. The fontsquirrel messed me up a little bit.
