    MySql Question

Posted 13 years 7 months ago
    • I have a custom script I've written that will accept a post to update a db I'm creating everytime a new song is played on a station.

I have another script that displays the last played song.

How can I have this script update automatically without a browser refresh.

The way it is now, it will update everytime a new page is loaded it shows the latest song, but if a song changes while on the page, I want that one line to update. Every tut I find is on how to update it via a refresh, I dont want that, just want a simple way to have it update in the php.

      Thoughts?

    • Hmm i wonder if you could use RokNewsPager? (stay with me on this one...)

If you create a RokNewsPager module to grab a selected article (i.e latest song article) and leave AutoUpdate set on, this will grab the latest song article by itself via ajax.

If you get your custom form to update the Latest Song Article's body via SQL surely this will be grabbed by RokNewsPager and updated automatically?

Im taking a stab in the dark here but just might work without so much coding and a little more Joomla integration so you can control it.
