    Implimenting language translation

    Posted 13 years 3 months ago
    • I am completely new to this and really have no idea where to start. i know there are plenty of language packs but I am not sure how they actually work. I not only want the menu titles and modules to change, but I need the content of course to get changed as well. I am aware it is not a perfect science but my client can not afford to have a translator. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to go about this.

      I would like to have two little flags at the top of each screen that will allow the user to switch from English to Spanish.

      Many thanks,
      Houston

    • Basically, language packs only translate the Joomla core content.

      E.g., for a multilingual E/J site

      Home = ホーム
      Contact Us = お問い合わせ

      (So anything within the core, including error messages, registration text, e-mail text, etc, is translated for you.)

      But the rest of the contet will need to be translated, or you will have to use some online translator, details here:
