Does anyone know of an extension that generates dynamic menus? Specifically, given a top-level category, I'm looking to have a menu that can be placed on the left side that will show the hierarchy of subcategories and all published articles assigned to those categories.
A tree view menu that is dynamically generated would be my first thought, but really any visualization is okay. It would need to deal with many items in the menu (potentially hundreds of entries), so the menu visualization should deal with this in some way (e.g., like a
combo box
that includes scrollbars).
Many thanks for any suggestions!

The dynamic menu isn't for the fatbear.com website. Yes, it is long overdue for a redesign and additional content. The Cobbler's children have no shoes. We'll use some relatively-new RT template and update it! In the meanwhile....
The dynamic menu is for a client that needs to have a website for technical documentation in which they want to have menus that reflect an hierarchy of categories and articles in them. There might be hundreds of such entries in the menu hierarchy, so I'm trying to figure out the best extension that will make this work well for their users.
So far, we're checking out
Extended Menu
as a candidate for dynamic menu handling.
I'd love to hear if anyone has any opinions on any dynamic menu extension!
