Shall I upgrade to Joomla 1.5 due to RocketWerx?

    • I'm wanting to use virtually all of the RocketWerx extensions on my joomla site, however I'm only using Joomla 1x due to stablility.

Shall I upgrade to joomla 1.5 to use these extensions - or will the extensions be compatible with Joomla 1x as well?

    • From what I have read at RocketWerx, they are 1.5 so if you wished to use them extensively, then 1.5 would be the way to go

    • Thanks James!

Now the question is.... can I migrate my site that is using the Elixer2.0 RT template along with Fireboard and all my content from Joomla 1x to Joomla 1.5?

    • You will be able to migrate your site content, but I don't advise doing so until J! 1.5 is stable. There is currently no 1.5 version of FB as far as I know so you'll have to either wait for that, or change your forum software.

Check in the downloads to see whether Elixer has already been migrated. If it hasn't, someone here will probably migrate it by the time J!1.5 is out, or you can do so yourself using the tutes provided by ... I believe James.

If you don't want to wait for Fireboard 1.5 version, an option is to convert your forum to SMF (there is a converter floating around), then wait a few months until the phpBB3 bridge comes out. Andy will need to port RT to phpBB3 and for that will have to build a converter... which he might make available to the community. This is informed speculation, but speculation none the less.

      Good luck to you!
