    • Hello again

I have recently changed the domain name pointing to my server

      was www.simply-kids.co.uk

      is now

      www.urbancolour.co.uk

When you visit the urban colour name I am given error messages on the home page

Im sure that this is due to the change of domain name but have no idea how to fix this

      Can anyone help please?

      Thanks

      Julian

    • Check your Global Configuration settings and make sure you don't have the old address listed in there. In particular, check your Server and Database tabs to ensure that everything looks right there...

    • You need to be using a program like Chamis' HTML-kit or Dreamweaver. HTML-kit has a free download called "build-292."

This has an FTP function and after you set it up, you can browse all of your online files, make changes and update your site instantly. This prevents one from having to physically download the file each time in order to edit it.

      Here's the link:

      Good Luck!

    • The specific file you need to edit is your configuration.php and look for:

      $mosConfig_live_site = 'old_web-address.com'

then save it by changing this to your new web-address.

    • If you have cpanel, you will likely also be able to edit the configuration.php file using the File Manager program...

    • No Control Panel :-(

    • If your host provides it, cpanel is the webhost's control panel, not your joomla one.
