    • Hi, im using the firenzie template and im trying to change the favicon.ico
      I found that in the general settings you can change it and i renamed it to kitchen.ic and uploaded a favicon named kitchen.ico to the root directory where the file favicon.ico is located. i uploaded the new one but the icon is still the old one. Any idea how to replace it ?
      Is there anywhere else i should be changing it ?

    • you might want to check the index.php of the Firenzie template and change favicon.ico to kitchen.ico

    • have you tried clearing you browsers cache or a force refresh (Ctlr+F5). I had this before but I checked the site from another PC it comes up with the new icon but not from where i was building it from. my last cents ;D

    • You have to clean the history of the visited sites and restart the browser. Eventually clean also Joomla! cache if it's on.

    • I can only offer up a half-ass' opinion:

      1. Keep the name favicon.ico

      2. Upload your favicon...to any and every folder on your site LOL

      3. Clear cache and pray.

    • Different templates call if from different locations. try this.

      Delete favicon.ico from everywhere on your site. Clear your cache and your joomla ache. Visit your site.

      Now go look in your sites error log, you'll see exactly where it's supposed to be, the errors will tel you where it's looking for it, and not finding it.

    • On my machine, only FF showed the rocket, where IE7 shows their own logo. Renaming the favicon.ico to favicon_orig in the images directory under the template directory, now shows a little blank piece of paper icon, which is less likely to confuse the visitors and good enough for me, for now.
