I am looking for a graphic logo for my site, I am wondering if people would even understand this logo.
(My website is completely designed for Web programmers and masters) - Ok, added some more here... Pick 1, 2, 3 or 4. 1, 2, and 3 will have a Text Beside it saying JBrown's Place, #4 will not. I can also mix and match as well... So if you like something on 2 and 4 than I can do that as well.

Looks nice.
A few points:
I think the connotations are very clear and will be to your target market. However I think you are placing to much emphasis on your "Mark" and Slogan then you are you actuall name.
I would simplify it slightly and lose the tick under the hammer and just leave it on the anvil - Make this smaller and make the Name of your business larger.
Just a very quick critique.
