not really, but there will be references in the actual template files to the name of the template, or a variable which defines the name. Make sure you change these to your new name.
Well, I changed the template folder name and after 5 minutes of testing everything *seems* to work. Just didn't know if I was setting myself up for headaches later. The only thing that *didn't work* was the thumbnail in Edit Template.
i found later rt templates call on actual rt named template folder.
proper way is to adjust all links accordingly in existing rt template folder to new folder name using dreamweaver "find and replace" or for unconvential easiest way lol duplicate rt template folder, rename one, assign it and leave other rt template folder there and site should render as per usual. now thats for the lazy ones and those who dont know how to do the above first suggestion
