    Need help with SMF configuration

Posted 17 years 1 week ago
    • Ok... this is a first for me. I am trying to configure SMF for a website. Here is what versions I am using:
      Joomla 1.0.15
      SMF 1.1.4
      JSMF Bridge 2.0.2.1
      Community Builder 1.1

I have everything installed, except the JSMF Bridge... where I am getting errors. It says: SMF Forum is installed on the same database as Joomla and both Joomla source files and SMF source files have been patched successfully. I then click verify, and it gives me this error:
      Failed:Error verifying user synchronization.: db_error:Table \\\'warrior_joomla.jos_members\\\' doesn\\\'t exist SQL=SELECT count(*) FROM jos_members LEFT JOIN jos_users ON jos_users.username=jos_members.memberName WHERE jos_users.username IS NULL1

I'm guess that I need to login to my forum and configure the server settings there maybe, which I tried to do.... but it says my database username and/or password is incorrect, which I got from my configuration.php file.

At this point I'm stuck. If you need more info, let me know. Thanks.

Maybe SMF is the wrong way to go since JSMF isn't going to be supported anymore? I tried Fireboard and hated it... so that's out of the question. Do they make a phpbb bridge for Joomla 1.0.15? I know RT has one for Joomla 1.5 but not for 1.0. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

      Matt

    • No phpbb3 bridge for J1.0.

You might find some helpful discussion about different bridges over at joomla.org, there are many!

There are others in development don't know if there's one that's for J1.0 > phpbb3.

    • when you installed Joomla,, the Name and Password you chose for the ADMIN MUST be the same ADMIN name and password in SMF....

next,, make sure you are using the hacks " SMF/Joomla" login module and that joomla native and CB native login mods are unpublished.

next.. always sign in and or register THROUGH the joomla login mod ( the SMF / Joomla one I mentioned above ). ,, do not sign in log in or register through SMF

in Joomla hacks component pay close attention to the login type that you select,, there is "joomla" "CB" "JOOMLA/SMF"

also,, crack open the joomla hacks PDF file and pay close attention to the install procedure,,, miss nothing about the features in SMF that need to be enabled or disabled,, it MATTERS

      good luck...
