Making a Computer in a Briefcase

Posted 16 years 11 months ago
    • I'm doing what the title says, I have everything pretty much worked out, except for the internal monitor. On the graphics card are two DVI connectors, one will to a mounted plug to connected external monitors, and the other will go to an internal monitor mounted on the lid of the aluminium case. It needs to be no more than 45cm x 33cm - so basically 15" or less (im not going to using it much just for show!).

Does anyone have an idea of a monitor that might be suitable. I've seen a few, but the backs stick out quite a way even with stand off for venting, i want one that doesn't stick at much.

i like the sort of monitor pictured at techrepublic.com.com/2346-10877_11-1184-5.html

    • Looks like a laptop screen to me....

You should be able to find an old laptop on Ebay or a used one at your local computer store...
    • Thanks,

    • I wonder if you'd have any trouble taking that on a plane?

not really, its going to be a home-brew laptop, bit of cool I reckon myself, and ill make it so it has external DVI etc so i can dock it. Might even install OSX86 maybe!
