Seeking updated solution to Flash reload problem

I've scoured and googled looking for a reliable, cross-browser way to prevent a Flash header from reloading on clicks without using Iframes and messing with the template.
The popular solution www.eyezberg.com/Joomla-CMS/Templates/Joomla-and-Flash.html doesn't work in all scenarios.
I'm a designer, not a programmer, and really at a dead end with this problem.
Has anyone found any new and/or reliable fixes? I know this is an issue that continues to haunt!
