- I feel like I'm missing something but that link doesn't refer to problems upgrading from Vista to Windows7. Just regular Windows updates seem to be the cause.

- yeah, doesn't work via update... you can't do it without buying the official upgrade package. You also can't upgrade from XP, you will have to do a complete FRESH install by reformatting. I just thought it was an interesting article/thread.

- Did you post the right link because that one doesn't mention Windows7 at all. Well except for one person in the comments hopes that Windows7 works better than Vista.

- I've used Win7 since Beta. I love it. I have it on my desktop (Win7 RC) and two laptops (Win7 RC) - and one of those laptop is an HP Mini netbook.
  
  I keep abreast with Win7 and what I found is that it would be best to re-format and install a clean copy. You won't be disappointed. The transition from Vista to Win7 is supposed to work, but I would just do a clean install anyway.

- You should always do fresh installs with any OS'es
  I have used Win7 since the RC got out in may. Both the RC and the FINAL are still running fine, had no crash at all
