What is your Backup Component choice?

    • I'm curious to see what everyone uses as a Backup Component for their websites.

I'm looking for one that will automatically backup site files and database on a timed bases - for me once a week and can either email the backup or FTP it to a specific location.

Curious to hear what others use!

    • I use lazybackup (a Joomla addon), which sends me the database each day for each website when the first person for the day visits that website, plus a script that backs up all the files for all websites to an online storage facility each week.

    • John - I was playing with Lazybackup earlier but everytime I did ANYTHING in the admin control panel, it would email me a backup.... I even have "Make backup always on admin page refresh" set to NO....

      Suggestions on what you did?

    • My parameters are set the same as you have them, so I don't know why it is not working the same as mine does. You might have to contact the developers. Sorry about that.

    • Maybe it was sending me emails everytime I logged into the admin control panel - I'm testing it now but earlier today I got like 4 or 5 emails with backups.

    • It was doing it every time I'd save the plugin, because of changes - which makes perfect sense.... user error lol
