    • Hi! I have built a Joomla site that lives on a remote server, but I don't have a local host on my computer. Can anyone tell me (or point me to an article) on how to create a local host? I'm doing it backwards and everything I find tells me how to move the site from local to remote, not the other way around.

      there are different types, i am using xampp on windows. there is a nice video tutorial here

      i hope the link is still correct, i cant check right now, because veoh has been blocked for egypt.

      besides xampp, there is also for example wamp, but havent tried myself.

      there is a nice tutorial on how to secure phpmyadmin etc. in xampp.
