    • Loads a blank page for me....

Perhaps it's time to consider using a different host?

HostGator or Rochen are good alternatives.
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • HostGator would be my choice.

MANY of the moderators here use them (although Rochen has a good reputation, too).

When moving you site you may want to use JoomlaPack

      joomlapack.net/index.php

    • Hi everyone!
yes! I'm getting Hostgator host!... thank you all...

but, before I do that, theres something i have...

I always keep a note on ting I do or on things that I have to spend some money, and theres was something about Hostgator that was ringing the bell in my head since yesterday, yes! i was right, I went to some Credit Card statements, in Oct. 2002 I used them with Mambo Server, in does days they didn't have it as one click installation so the installation was manual, use the FTP was not a problem editing the files was not a problem, the real problem was when you install a component or module then trying to edit them was almost impossible due to a server configuration using Apache server and the ownership of each files.

What I'm saying is that installing files(components, modules) via HTTP you practical are given the ownership to the server rather than you the owner.
using shell access you can see some properties of the files and one of them is to see who is the owner of that files...
so the files that Up load with FTP belong to "me"
      file.php 55.22kb php user:user
so installing the same file via HTTP the owner will be HTTP which is the server
file.php 55.22kb php http:user you can't edit, delete or move, even if you change the CHMOD to 0777 you can't do a thing to it, you can only read or execute.
and send many request to the support area asking to delete files, move files, rename files and so on...
that was one of the main reasons of why I left them...

I only hope that this problem is not longer an issue...

      we will see..

      thank you all

    • Just upload the zipped RL to the root (or a back up of your site from your old site - with JoomlaPack if you go that route), extract it through the CP, install, and go from there.

I've yet to have ownership issues with my HG accounts, let alone any other major problems.

Support is spot on, most issues resolved within minutes using Live Chat.
