Well, I managed to find a quick hack to get the blog working with SEF so it's now up. This is using the fantastic Joomla! port of WordPress by Marko and the gang at
www.joomladeveloping.org
Pretty painless to get wordpress integrated with Joomla using his component and modules. I've never used WordPress before but it's pretty nice and there are some things that we can probably 'copy' in Joomla in upcoming versions.

I'm still trying to get SEF to work for me in Joomla. When I do, what's the hack to get WordPress working with it?
