The move to the new RTv2 site is set for this coming weekend (Sat 20th, Sunday 21st of December, 2008). We've been preparing for months for this, but frankly it's a huge change. Everything is going to be new, servers, operating system, joomla version, forum software, affiliate software, club code, download code, etc, etc, etc. The plan is to put the existing site in a kind of read-only mode where existing users can still download templates, can still read the forum, but cannot 'upgrade', or post on the forum. Purchasing will be turned off during the duration of this move so we can ensure that the databases can stay synchronized. We have allowed for 2 days for this transition, but obviously we'll be trying to get the new site up as fast as possible.
There's really a lot to like about the new site. The whole membership experience is greatly enhanced, and the site itself is more pleasant and more enjoyable to use and view. The new phpBB3 based forums have lots of great features and enhancements that are going to make it a more interactive and friendly place. To be honest, we cannot wait to get it live!
