    • they have another usefull thing

      www.siteground.com/joomla-hosting/joomla...1.5/jGeoIPFilter.htm
      jGeoIPFilter is a Joomla 1.5 module designed by SiteGround that allows you to perform different actions on your website depending on the geographic location of your visitors. For example, this module allows you to redirect all visitors from England to the English version of your website and all visitors from Germany - to the German version of your pages.

    • Henning, I'm looking for a security solution for my J1.5 sites. Do you still recommend this plugin/product jHackGuard?
    • Thanks.

    • Hi Henning - I'd like an answer to this question as well. Is this plugin still recommended? Thanks!

    • I have been using the Akeeba Admin Tools Pro and Akeeba Backup Pro recently and I am more than happy. I also have used the JHackGuard. The only problem with it is the plugin doesn't have many settings so I'm not sure what it does :(

      I'm pretty sure it's just my stupidity, but with the Akeeba software I have a manual that gives detailed information of what is being protected.

      They have free versions for both, but for $62 bucks in US currency you get both Pro Versions plus one year of free private tickets. I am a person who is tight on a buck so I had to be overly impressed to purchase the Pro version when they had free versions :) But the Pro version of Admin Tools comes with a Firewall that has a bunch of features to protect your site. Plus you can use the extensions on all of your Joomla sites.

      I suggest you to use this link www.akeebabackup.com/software/admin-tools.html to view the information on the Admin Tools for yourself also look at the Backup Tools. They have a bunch of other extensions to help you, but these are the two that I use the most.

      Trust me I struggled with what to do about security also I made a post maybe a 1 week ago about security for the Joomla site and it was suggested that I look at the free versions of the programs but the paid version just offered too much for me to overlook especially the firewall that can help prevent injections.

      I'm new to using the extension so I'm sure others in this forum probably can give you more details about it.

    • Probably the Akeeba Admin Tools are the best option now.
      But as Brian knows ... you have to be carefull with the settings.
      It's easy to break stuff.

    • I just added jHackGuard to 2 websites. It looked simple enough but it immediately put a fat link in the middle of the front page on one site and completely broke the other. So I've disabled and uninstalled. I'm going to check out the Akeeba Admin Tools now.

    • Yeah I noticed on the sites that I placed it on it automatically adds their link on the page. I eventually figured out how to remove the link by messing around in the files on the server, but it seems like there should be a quick option to remove it. I think you will be happy with Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. Like I mentioned in an earlier post when you buy the Pro versions together you get free private tickets. So as you are learning which settings are best for your server you will get free help. I had to issue a couple of tickets myself the last couple of days and the response times were great.

    • That's exactly what I didn't like about the jHackGuard - that nasty link in the debug position. If I can find the way to remove it, perhaps I'll try it for awhile. But for now I've been trying the free version of Admin Tools - it's pretty handy for switching permissions, etc.

      Has anyone used Marco Interceptor? I have it installed and from time to time I get their warnings that start like this -

      "** Local File Inclusion [GET:start] => ../../../../../../../../../etc/passwd\0
      ** Local File Inclusion [REQUEST:start] => ../../../../../../../../../etc/passwd\0

      Any experiences with this?
