Hi All
My hosting server provider has gone down again and I really want to move my site files to another hosting company with new ftp and mysql details.
I was wondering what file I need to update with my new ftp and mysql details. i.e root/ configuration.php (is this the only file I need to update) for everything to work again correctly?
Thank you Prim
However, I have software to backup/transfer, my question was do i need to only update my configuration.php with my new ftp and mysql details (Yes / No) would be well appreciated!
If you use Akeeba, it will rewrite all the files automatically, no need to do any edits, just back up your site, move the installer, run it, and you're done.
This is a tough question because generally speaking, yes, the configuration.php file is the only one that needs edits...but...some of the newer templates and extensions do require other changes that are not as easy to find, so that is why they are suggesting Akeeba strongly.
