Problems moving page from subdomain

    • Hi there,

i installed joomla and the dominion template via rocketlauncher on a subdomain..

now the page is ready to launch and we moved it to the top domain.

we changed the paths in the configuration.php but are still using the old database..

now we have some problems.. e.g. when we klick on "home" it shows the subdomain link, not the link to the topdomain or if we login we are redirected to the subdomain!

what are we doing wrong? is it because of the install with rocketlauncher?

    • If you have phpmyadmin you will see some config areas that are set, they will still be pointing to your subdomain most likely.
search for your subdomain within your database and im sure you will find the problem :D

    • Use Akeeba Backup to move the site.

You will need a new DB but all the new paths will be written automatically.

    • Hi there,

A couple of possibles for you to check...

1.) Did you make changes to configuration.php locally and then upload? I have done this with some sites and file permissions prevented it being loaded. I have also made changes via cpanel file manager and saved the file only to doscover later that permissions prevented the file being saved.

2.) Are you running any SEF module? It may be that the url is cached in the SEF component.

Let me know how you get on.
