Regarding Joomla, any upgrade process should be along the lines of:
1. Backup, Backup & Backup before you do anything. Best method is to use Akebba Backup
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...security/backup/1606
2. Restore the Backup to a test URL (it's easy and takes a few minutes once the backup is uploaded to the test URL.
3. If you have Google Analytics or any other tool like that, disable it on the test installation.
4. Destroy the test instance of Joomla with your upgrades and check the site works afterwards
5. Document any fixes you had to do
6. Proceed to upgrade the Production Website applying the fixes you found and resolved.
I recommend having a test instance ready to role (test.yourdomain.com) with a database in place for all websites you're looking after
Hope that helps and if you need asistance, PM me a super admin and any details you have and I can take a quick look at the issues.
Thanks for the response. I don't host this site myself and for some reason cant get K2 to update. It says that the folder cant be written to. The hosting company is looking into it.
I am presuming that K2 is causing the issues. As you noticed, rokbox isn't working.. but should be.
I am not all that technical so I will pm you. Your input will be GREATLY appreciated.
I now have your images with Rokbox popping up.
1. I've taken the K2 content and put it into a temp article and assigned it to a menu to eliminate K2 from the equation.
2. Checked the two Rokbox plugins.
a) Content - RokBox (enabled)
b) System - RokBox (it was disabled)
I enabled System - RokBox and your images started to pop out of the screen like crazy.
Please check the Web Site to make sure this has not caused any issues elsewhere. Just browse the pages and click on things to make sure they function okay.
The gallery side is setup as a slideshow using menu options to show specific joomgallery categories. Since this approach has been taken, the slideshow plugin shows it, not Rokbox. If you go into JoomGallery under the components menu, there are loads of settings in there that may sort it out. At the moment, it's a slideshow and there may be a switch to enable the popup
Regarding the updates, someone had to of disabled the plugin (System - RokBox) and generally my experience is that the client is slow close to it and wanting something to work that an update will be done but not remembered or realised post the event.

I think what has happened is the SEF URLs were turned on as some point because the URL that was being used resembles the Joomla URL construction...
www.wildwebafrica.com/index.php/weblog.html
Now looking deeper to the ARTIO JoomSEF Component, the first thing that shows up is a warning that "NOTE: SEF support in Joomla is currently disabled. To use SEF, please enable it from the Global Configuration page."
You can bet your bottom Dollar, Pound or any other currency that the original Link of "
www.wildwebafrica.com/index.php/weblog.html
" was correct at the time but since the SEF has been disabled in Joomla, it stopped the link from working.
Suggest the next steps are...
1. Understand what the client wants from the Website.
Not just about being an attractive Website to provide up to date information but more about marketing and how that relates to the long term objectives.
2. This will link into an SEO strategy to promote the Website but also provide an insight on just what else should be done with the site On Page and Off Page.
3. That will all go towards acheiving their goals of (and in their words) "... to be a leader and authority on African wildlife and ecology, furthering wildlife education, supporting wildlife research and conservation efforts as well as helping people around the world experience Africa’s natural heritage to the full, be it in digital format or via real-life experiences."
