Installing source files

  • Installing source files

    • I'm trying to update my website and keep running into trouble installing the source files with a template. It won't install as a .zip and it won't install when I take it apart. What am I missing?

      thanks!

    • Source files is not a part of the installation. It contains the PNG graphics that you can edit using Adobe Fireworks, for example, the logo. You just need to unpack the zip file and you will find the PNG sources inside.

    • right. I understand that. But how do I get those files to the site? I have the rest of the templates installed, but they don't work bc they don't have the font folders - which I can't figure out how to get uploaded...

May I know what template you are using now?

    • we're currently using juxta - and it's been about 13-14 months since we last updated the site. I'm trying to install modulus and reflex. I installed the template and the extensions no problem, so it's just this one part.

    • Hello Jessie,

Like explained in the previous reply, the "fonts" inside rt_modulus_j15-sources package you downloaded is not to be installed in the Joomla installer. You need to install the fonts on your OS to make the fonts available for your Fireworks so you can update the logo text in the template source file.

If you mean you are missing the "fonts" folder inside the template folder:
<Joomla Root>/templates/rt_modulus_j15/fonts, then your installation of your template might be corrupted. Please redownload the template again and reinstall it via Extensions -> Install/Uninstall

      Hope this helps :)

    • sorry for the confusion. so, if these files don't need to be installed separately, something else must be wrong ... I've now installed 3 templates, but when I try to edit them to prepare them for us, I get a "fatal error" message that it can't find certain files ... ?

    • "but when I try to edit them to prepare them for us"
      >> Could you please elaborate more, what you want to edit? and how did you edit it?
Did you mean to change the template parameter at Extension -> Template Manager?

"I get a "fatal error" message that it can't find certain files ... ?"
      >> Could you please let me know the complete error message which file mentioned in the error message?

    • yes, when I click on the template manager to select the style settings, etc, I get a long description page with this error at the bottom:

      Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ... /public_html/home/libraries/joomla/html/parameter/element/html.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php52/pear') in ... /public_html/home/components/com_gantry/admin/elements/chain.php on line 41

When I click on older templates to edit through the template manager, I get a page of options to choose style, menus, etc, and can get to the css etc through that page. With these, there are no options at all, just the template description and that mssg.

    • Hello Jessie,

Could you please ensure you are using the latest version of Gantry as well, after you updated your Juxta?
