JUST BOUGHT A NEW TEMPLATE: I WOULD LIKE TO START FRESH. HOW CAN I COME UPON DOING THAT...I AM LITTLE STUCK TO THE POINT THAT MY TEMPLATE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THE ONE I PURCHASED.
I WOULD LIKE TO RESET AND START NEW.
ANY IDEAS???

If you're aiming for the look of the demo templates, you have to use the rocketlauncher, which has all of the RT Team's magic and secret ingredients baked right in.
Did you use the Rocketlauncher version or just the template? (It matters, unless you're very skilled and can rebuild everything, configure the modules, etc.) Also, during installation, click "Install Sample Data"- you can delete it later.
You should also understand that the demos are showcasing ALL the goodness of the template and accompanying modules, and that you may not need or want everything as is. Feel free to move stuff around- they're used to us destroying all their hard work!
I typically just dump the modules I don't want, and replace the content that's in the demo. Make sure to re-size any module pics (to the same size as demo pics) BEFORE you upload them (rather than trying to do it in the editor).
Another noob thing I haven't seen mentioned about Joomla-
If you use something like Norton Identity Safe that auto-fills pages with info, it will fill the article and menu alias with that info. Turn it off when working on your site! (I learned this the hard way and had to fix several sites...
) If you visit Global Configuration server settings page with this turned on, it will auto-fill your info into the database username line and you won't be able to access your site!
Solution- visit your C-panel File Manager (or equivalent), open configuration.php file, and enter the correct info for that line and save it.

Ahhh!!!
Sounds like a piece of cake, let me see what i can do with the next couple of days. What i am trying to do is have a Video and a Photo Showcase. Something that you can run your mouse over and it elevates a little, then when you click on it it opens up the pic/video or another site.
Got too many ideas not enough brain power to make it happen.
let me know if you or anyone knows of a quick solution. in the mean time let me get busy...
