Weird issues with a new install of Joomla 1.7

    • I have used Joomla 1.7 to set up three other sites and this is the first time I have ran into a really complex set of issues both graphical and functional. This is my second clean install...the first was via Simple Scripts, which looked very bad even using the Bluestork admin template...the second was a clean install using the package provided from the Joomla! site. I even deleted the databases and used a different name to prevent any issues with lag on my server, but nope.

      1. For all of the buttons that require a select command i.e. for the position or for template parameters such as a logo etc. The window is opening in a completely new window vs. a pop up as it should. This is also cancelling out my ability to press the "insert" button and have "something" happen. It instead does nothing whatsoever!?!?!?!?!?

2.. I tried using the new Mission Control Template to see if it would help, but alas it did not, in fact it looked very ugly. The first is an example of a header shot of my template editing area while looking over a GavickPro template (Notice how the Joomla Administrator Title sinks under the logo):

The second is a load of INFO graphics that stream across the screen. You can't see it from this picture, but the tab headers are disappearing and reappearing very funky like. There is also no way to insert a logo image using the select as I mentioned above. It will just open a new window and basically become dead space. I can select the insert button all day long, but nothing happens.

Lastly, you can see the problem I am having when selecting a position for a module. This shot was taken from the Blue stork Template (the same thing happens with MissionControl). The shot is of the full screen window with the position link not working. It should feed back into the position, but it does nothing and I assume it is because it is opening in the parent window for SOME reason that I can not fathom!

Anyone else having these issues, or am I going to have to pull all my hair out now.
