Problem with Maelstrom theme control panel

Hello, i am using the Maelstrom template since one year ago, it works fine in the front end. But since a couple of months ago when i try to enter in the Template Panel from the Joomla backend, i become some kind of error and can not configure any parameter from the theme.
I attach a screenshot to show you what i mean.
How can i solve it? how can i change the template parameters now?

hi again,
thank you for your pm. you really have to update gantry, the one you have might be causing the problem. you can use akeeba backup to run a backup first, but usually a gantry update won't break anything.

Hi, again Kat
after your advise i have updated to the last Joomla 1.5 framework i have found from Gantry, the 3.1.18 ( http://code.google.com/p/gantry-framework/downloads/detail?name=gantry_joomla_framework-3.1.18.zip&can=2&q= ) but everything is working in the same way, i can not access to the Template configuration either.
The gantry version i had before was the 3.1.6, and if i try any newer versions like the 3.2.16 i become an error since can not find the XML file
Any help?

hi again,
i have set 'error reporting' to maximum and when i view the template settings, i get the following error near the bottom:
Fatal error: Class '<span class='custom-params'> ✪ </span>' not found in /home/xxx/public_html/libraries/joomla/language/language.php on line 171
i will ask the others if they have any idea on this one.
