Greetings
Its my understanding that Joomla 1.7 and 2.5 use the same template engine. Is it a safe assumption that the Joomla 1.7 templates will work on 2.5?
Also, is there a plan to migrate the awesome rockettheme components to 2.5 compatability?
I have been working to get my client sites updated to Joomla 1.7 to help facilitate the next logical step to get them moved to 2.5 in Early March.

Well, regarding templates, as of today, Feb 6 2012, there is only ONE Rockettheme template avilable for Joomla 2.5, the CLARION template. I was using the CAMBER template under Joomla 1.7, but it stopped working under Joomla 2.5. Menus stopped displaying, galleries froze. I guess we will have to wait. In my case I installed the CLARION and it works fine. But what a drag configuring everything again.

Remember that Joomla has been introducing some significant bugs in some of these releases, so it's a good idea to look into things before just jumping to the newest thing out.
