  • Unable to update modules and components

    • Hi everybody !
      Some time ago I had successfully update modules & components. But after some J! patches I can't update nothing width the J! installer.

      Today I tryed to update RokGallery from old to new version, but got an error: folder is already exist.
      Only after deinstalling component, rokCommon plugin, button xtd plugin I can install a new version of component.

      Now I can't update Clarion template - RokNavMenu folder is already in use.
      I can't update RokNavMenu module - RokNavMenu folder is already in use.

      Tell me pleace, where am I wrong ?

    • My only guess is that permissions on the folders changed and that your web server user is not allow to make changes on the files and folders. Try to use AdminTools to fix permissions and try again to update your extensions and template

    • Thanks for answer, but it's still not working.
      Not for all components and plugins. I can't update:
      - rokgallery_j16
      - mod_roknavmenu_j16
      - rokbox_j16
      I try to fix permissions width AdminTools 2.2.2 - no changes.
      That issue exist on local (Denwer) and on web (hosting) both.

      May be u know the way to fix that?

    • Well, as I said, you have permissions problems. My guess is that you have configured php on your server to be run as mod_php Apache module and not as suphp Apache module. You will have to contact your hosting provider to solve this issue for you

    • ...this issue is on local server (Denwer), and begin after upgrade J! to 2.5.4. Never seen it before.
      All rermission I set to 777 :shock: :)

      Rokstories (for example) was update succesfully.

    • I don't know. Try to remove manually folders and files for those extensions and try to install them again

    • Unfortunatelly this is the only way to install. Worse with Rokgallery - I have to uninstall component and all RG-plugins before install a new version. And then I have to add all fotos again.

      Anyway, thank you for your answers.
      If you will find some variants to fix this issue - please, post it here.

    • It's issue is only with J!2.5.4.
      In J! 2.5.3 modules update is OK!
