SOLVED Caches disabled but must manually clear cache?
Posted 11 years 5 months ago
I have to manually clear the Joomla cache after every Templates Manager edit to see the change(s). It's not the browser cache (tested), it's server-side. I thought I had disabled everything...what do you suggest?
I have DISABLED:
(Template) Module cache
(Template) Less compiler
(Global config) system cache
(Global config) GZip
A plugin and "SuperCacher" CPanel option from my host (SiteGround)
(No other cache plugins installed, to my knowledge.)
Despite that, cache entries keep appearing for Gantry and GantryLess. The "Clear Cache" button in Templates Manager (next to "Close") does NOT clear those entries. I have to use the system cache manager to clear them.
Using latest Chapelco template and latest Gantry, making changes in Templates Manager.
Using Windows with FF, checking with IE.
Thanks!
Note: Sorry in advance to mods; posted in a
similar thread in Chapelco
, but this seemed more a configuration issue than a template-specific one. Not sure where it goes
And if you are using J3.2 that has issues that necessitate clearing cache more often than you otherwise might.

Yes it's a known bug that we hope to address shortly - joomla relocated the front-end cache in J3.2 and we need to change our cache clear functionality to target the new location. In the mean time you will have to use system > clear cache - tick all - DELETE after any template manager change.
btw J3.2 has lots of major bugs in it - so I wouldn't be using it if I were you... but it's your call...

Mark - Thanks; Gantry update 4.1.19 seems to have fixed the cache problem.
I ended up starting over with RocketLauncher (J3.1) anyway instead of Softaculous, to roll back to J3.1, avoid unwanted auto-updates and take advantage of the demo content.
