    Mission Control/Joomla Problem

Posted 11 years 5 months ago
    • My client had another developer create a Joomla website for them that uses Mission Control as the admin template.

He is now wanting to switch admin templates but when I make another one default (e.g. Bluestork) then all the administration menus disappear and the only things that appear at the top is the View Site button and the logout button. Would upgrading to Joomla 3 get rid of this problem as I have already tried using the Joomla Update function which updated the website to Joomla 2.5.16 but didn't solve the problem. I have also tried changing to 2 different template so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the template I'm changing to.

Another issue is that I see rt_missioncontrol - Default 4 times in the list of templates. 2 have the id of 10 and 2 have the id of 11. Does anyone know why this is the case?

      Stats that might be handy:
      CMS = Joomla v2.5.16
Admin Template = Mission Control v2.4
      Site Template = Clarion v1.2
      PHP 5.4.20
      MySQL 5.5.32-cll
My website account has Super Admin privileges.

    • 1. don't upgrade a production site to J3 it's still STS and not recommend for production sites - also J3.2 has issues.
      2. mission control does not work on J3.
      3. Please would you PM URL, superuser id and pswd and i'll have a look for you.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Ok.

      1. You have an error in the database - here is the solution to get rid of the duplicate entries - BACKUP FIRST! - use the plugin at your own risk. http://www.rockettheme.com/blog/joomla/1394-duplicate-template-fix-for-joomla-25
      2. It looks like the hathor and bluestork template files may be missing (in part) - therefore I also need FTP access to check that out too - Please PM FTP logon, password and FTP URL.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Ok I fixed this now and you are no longer on "mission control" admin template - I switched you to bluestork.

What was wrong is that all your access levels and groups have been significantly changed away from standard joomla - this meant that the access level you had been given did not have permission to view the admin modules associated with "dentist owner" - so, for now, I change the access level required on all these modules to "public" (you still need to sign in so it's still secure). You will need to review the ACL and examine the groups and access level to gain a better understanding how they should be set the "special" access level normally associated with administrators only is not present in your joomla set-up.

At least you can work with bluestork admin panel now.

      Regards, Mark.
