SOLVED Users can create, publish but not edit articles - permissions are OK

Hi,
I'm well aware that my problem doesn't have anything to do with any of the Rockettheme products I've installed, but still I'm hoping someone recognizes my problem and can point me in the right direction.
On my site http://dev.teylingen-college.nl users can log in on the front end. Their user group gives them all the available permissions on the article categories they may use (Create, Delete, Edit, Edit State, Edit Own). Two users from two different groups / categories report this issue:- They create and save an article
- When they try to reopen to edit, they get a 403 error
- If they log out and in again, they can edit
I've checked both their permissions and they seem to be fine, which is suggested by the fact that they can edit after logging out and in again. Anyone with a clever idea? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Igor,
thanks for looking into it. In the secure tab are the login details for the backend. I've temporarily allowed access for IP addresses not in the administrator whitelist. I'm not sure what you can see while in the backend, the problem is in the front end, so I've provided frontend login details as well. N.B. using the backend details you can't get into the front end, your IP will be blocked if you try too many times!

One more thing
As far as I can see, that user has only "Login" permission to the site - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision

Hi Igor,
no, it has been assigned to the group "Redacteur Duinzigt" which gives it permission to create, edit publish articles in the Duinzigt category and all sub categories. These are exactly the permissions one of my my real users has who reported the problem.

Posted 10 years 5 months ago- But it doesn't give him permissions. Check the attached screenshot. It shows exactly that group and permissions on exactly that group

Hi Igor,
from your screenshot I can't see the permisions for what you're showing. There's a lot on the site he doesn't have permissions for.
Anyway, the problem is not him having no permissions, the problem is erratic behaviour: he can create, save, publish, but not straight away reopen for editing. He can only do that after a while or when he's been logged out. Again, not a question of not being able to do at all, just not all the time...
Below a screenshot of his permissions for the article category "Duinzigt" which are inherited by all sub categories:

This is actually very old Joomla bug that is still present
Check the following thread in the official Joomla forum. There is a solution to this bug at the end of the thread so you can try to apply it
