Need help! RE: Setting folder pemissions

Hey there,
im relatively new to the world of joomla...actaully completely new. I have been trying to update a new template to our website www.kingssportingclub.com .
it has been telling me that "/media is unwriteable" and so obviously i have been looking and looking where to set this, but cannot find. i have also noticed that there are 2-3 other folders in which need to be made writeable in order to upload the template.
i don't really know much in the way of CSS, or scripting etc, but im pretty cluey in regards to tech stuff, so i should be able to find wha im looking for if someone can help or tell me what need to do to change these permissions.
