How do I change //index.php to /index.php ??

  • How do I change //index.php to /index.php ??

    • Hi

      Quick question - I've installed perihelion template over a copy of an existing website and have problems with the sites URL.

      The path is coming through as 79.170.40.55/newdows.co.uk//index.php instead of 79.170.40.55/newdows.co.uk/index.php

      The menu items load up fine (bit slow) so I'm guessing it a configuration setting somewhere that needs to be changed.

      Configuration.php has this entry - looks fine to me but is this correct??

      $mosConfig_lang = 'english';
      $mosConfig_lifetime = '900';
      $mosConfig_link_titles = '1';
      $mosConfig_list_limit = '30';
      $mosConfig_live_site = ' 79.170.40.55/newdows.co.uk/ ';
      $mosConfig_locale = 'en_GB';
      $mosConfig_mailer = 'mail';

      If I change the // to a single / in the browser address, the main menu disappears and I have to refresh the screen to get it back. (This also happens if I resize the window.) The site links work fine, but the URL changes back to // as soon as I link to another page!!

      It's the same in Firefox, Safari, The World, SeaMonkey, Avant, MaxThon & Opera so it's not an IE thing!

      Anybody offer any guidance on this?

      Cheers

      Kevin

    • Hi Yves

      I tried that but if I just go to 79.170.40.55/newdows.co.uk the page isn't found - of course I can just put /index.php in for now as it's only on a temporary domain address. Just worried that once I go live, the same problem could follow me across!

      Is there any way that I can make the menu stay in the right place?? It keeps wanting to jump to the left and I have to refresh to get it back into the centre. And any ideas how I can get the menu to be visible at all times? If I resize or maximize the screen, the menu goes away and again I have to refresh the site.

      Unfortunately, about 75% of the site visitors use IE6 so I'm having to make sure everything is working correctly before I go live!

      Cheers for your help.

      Kevin
