Need advice with permissions in J-Root (1.5.9)

I upgraded an old site from 1.5.3 to 1.5.9. (site is running "well" but perhaps not secure ...)
But now I think I messed up permissions a bit.
What are the best settings for the folders/files in the J-Root
755 for Folders (all folders inc. configuration.php)?
644 for Files (really all files)?
Is there a list somewhere?
Would be great if you dont just post links (yes I know joomla.org
Im looking for YOUR tips and hints ...

For me: 755 to all folders
