Not sure where to post this, so apologies if this is the wrong place. I was told on another thread to clean up my links. I've looked at the W3C validator report and have a ton of redirects like this:
The links below are not broken, but the document does not use the exact URL, and the links were redirected. It may be a good idea to link to the final location, for the sake of speed.
This is a permanent redirect. The link should be updated.
Can someone please tell me where to access this code and how to go about fixing it? They are all generated by putting products into VirtueMart. I don't know why this is happening, and would like to know because I have more products to add, and would like to do it correctly (which I thought I was). Will I need to find each line and change each one by one, or is there something I can do that will fix them all in one process?
Also, is there an extension or plugin that will go through my site looking for and fixing bad code? That may sound a little naive, but I've seen an amazing number of extensions that do all kinds of things, so I figured I'd ask...
One more question, I have the site in a sub folder in the root, with the web address pointing to another folder containing a stock "under construction" page, and plan to point the url to the other folder when the site is done. Does having the site in a sub folder affect browser speed? I would think not, because many web addresses contain a "/" at the end, such as
www.abc.com/something
.
Curious because of the slowness of my site at this time. Hoping it's due to all those redirects.
It sounds to me like this is a Virtuemart linking / product issue and not a template issue. Please check on the Virtuemart forum and possibly talk to your host to make sure you have your folder structure set up properly.
