CSS rendering problem

    • Hi,
really haven't got a clue what could be causing this problem: since recently (not sure, but think it might be since upgrading Joomla from 1.5.10 to 1.5.11) every new component I install displays incorrectly - it's obviously a CSS rendering issue.
Please have a look at the attached image of a newly installed Ninjaboard Forum. The same case with several other components recently installed. Tested in other templates (currently using Solar Sentinel and very happy with it) but no changes.
Would really appreciate any help with this issue.
      Cheers
      Nick

    • Hello,

Do you have sef urls enabled on your site? If so, make sure it is set up correctly by renaming htacces.txt to .htaccess

Otherwise, it is hard to tell without a link to your site.

    • Hi Mike and many thanks for the reply. No, I don't have sef enabled, however, after reading your message went to check the root folder and found both the .htaccess and the htaccess.txt inside. Removed temporarily .htaccess which didn't affect website's functionality, but it didn't fix the problem either. Interestingly, the issue only relates to recently installed components - the ones installed before work just fine.
If you would like to have a look, please be my guest. The website address is:
      mychatbuddy.com/OnlineEnglish
You will need to logon as:
      user: guest
      pass: guest
Please use the bottom menu - you will see a temporary link "X" to Ninjaboard forum component installed yesterday. The "Forum" link in the bottom menu will take you to Kunena forum installed a while ago. As you will see, Kunena component works just fine, whereas the new Ninjaboard one doesn't. I think sef issues would affect all components regardless of when they were installed.
Would even be happy to provide you with a backend logon should you need it.
Many thanks in advance for any assistance on this serious issue.
      Cheers
      Nick

    • Hi Nicholas,

I am not sure why other extensions are having this issue, but I believe that NinjaBoard has a bug that causes this when it is installed in a subdirectory.

      Try opening up this file:
      components/com_ninjaboard/designs/styles/ninjaboard_blue/ninjaboard_blue.css

and changing what you see there to :
      @import "ccss.php";

Not certain if that will fix it, but it's worth a try.

      Cheers,
      Mark

    • Mark - thanks a million for this one! Yes - it did fix the problem for me. Should have contacted Ninja people in the first place, but believed that the problem was caused by sef or other settings. Many thanks one more time - you've saved the day!
      Cheers

    • Glad to help :)

NinjaBoard is still pretty unpolished. I hear the stable version will be better but we'll see.
