    • Hi,

      Do any of you recommend a specific type of blog extension for Joomla? I'm going to be setting up multiple blogs within the site all for different topics. I already have a forum set up like this so I'm also debating the pros/cons between blogs and forums and should I or shouldn't I have both types on the site. Would like to see any discussion you may have. Thanks!!

    • Depending on what you want with your blog - multiple authors yes or no -, commenting systems etc etc. Do you want to maintain it within Joomla format or do you want 3rd party:

      Internal Joomla blog uses categories and is simply done with a Joomla menu: Blog category. You could use a commenting system like: www.rockettheme.com/extensions-joomla/rokcomments

      You could use a 3rd party blogging/content system like K2: k2.joomlaworks.gr/

      You could even use THE blogging tool Wordpress and make a very nice integration by using a RocketTheme Wordpress blog.

      It is mostly based on how extended you want your blog to be. I would say a small blog should easily be possible with Joomla's internal category Blog feature.

    • Thank you. I like the RokComment style...that would probably work. Now using the RokComments, I'm also going to have to another plugin for the blog itself or am I missing something? My intent with the blog will to have several different blogs with different topics and have 1-2 Blog authors and allow folks to subscribe to the blog or not as they choose...does that make sense?? Our forums have not caught on or anything and I'm thinking a blog would be better. Thanks, ~Brandon
