    template parameter modfications not saving

Posted 15 years 2 months ago
    • I was using Joomla templates in the past and gladly upgraded to the Gantry templates when they became available. However, after trying to use both Reaction and Dominion without success, I had to switch to a Wordpress template. I would rather go back to Joomla, but need help with the same issue that I was unable to get resolved more than a month ago. When I opened the template manager and made modifications to the settings they wouldn't actually "Save". I clicked on the "Save" icon and got the spinner indicating the changes were processing, but it never completed. I've tried to research this at length and have seen possible causes such as permissions and the PHP version. Nothing I have tried has resolved this. I know that many others were having this problem at one time. Is there a solution so I can move my sites back to Joomla and take advantage of the Gantry Framework?

    • Have you looked at the file to see if the changes are saved?

Are you clearing the cache and cookies?
    • Thanks,

    • i am clearing cache and cookies. no changes are being saved.

I reloaded everything again to see if there might be an installation issue. now, neither the "save" nor "apply" buttons are indicating that there is activity - no "spinner".

    • since I started having all this difficulty with joomla templates, I switched my account to wordpress and converted my sites. i'm hoping to go back to joomla, but want to get this resolved prior to doing so. since my joomla account is inactive, I cannot follow your link. is there any other way i can get some guidance? btw - i did pose this question to my server host asking if it might be an issue with the version of PHP. i was told that it was likely an issue with the template. thanks for your help.

      Hi all,

Thank you for all the advise, due to this I decided to move my hosting to a company where I set up the web in a Linux environment. This did the trick. All is working as it should and I can really advise all other out there that is running the newer templates (from about Nov 2009 onward) on Windows NT servers, to move it to Linux type servers. So many other functions and extension work like they should.

      Thank you again to all!

      Have a nice day.
of course i dont know for sure if it is a server issue, just saying that it can be the case.
do you have a local test environment such as xampp or mamp where you can try the install?

      kat :)
