Cant login after full install

I may be missing something here but after full Rocketlauncher install I am unable to log into the back-end of joomla to update my site. I set the UN and PW aspart of the manual installation process, the site is up and running but I cant get into the admin.
Any ideas?

Have you registered you login information? I found it was in an unusual place in Joomla- which I will be looking for again as I have a strange login- related issue to unravel.
I did not initially have a login problem, but shortly after I started working with Joomla, a screen with a bug on it appeared on almost all screens. The initial message said that my browser was not accepting cookies from this site. When I looked at users I was listed as "shopper/super administrator” perhaps because I entered one product item as an experiment.
It appears to me that backend and front-end login screens have somehow become entangled. Recently I deleted all my cookies from my browser and now the admin login screen rejects my password but there is a link on the login screen that says "RETURN TO HOME PAGE" that leads to the home page with the bug on it.
There are instructions on what to debug but no debug applications to be found. I found some instructions about adding some code to a PHP doc but could not locate any PHP docs on the application setup by my web server. When I mentioned the instructions to my web server, he only told me not to do anything with PHP docs, as that would only make it worse- which seemed a bit like I was being underestimated. It seems to me that the instructions were simple and one of them was to be the first entry on the PHP doc. If the code doesn't work, the code can be deleted and the PHP doc can return to its original form.
Since I deleted all my cookies, I will have to look for those instructions again.
It is less than encouraging that I also found a long discussion about a similar message by people far more advanced than I, who were not able to arrive at an answer for months. The only difference was that the message they were talking about said to reload the page and the message occurred sporadically and unpredictably, blocking access to the site.

I am wondering if this could be the source of my problem. My webserver installed Joomla and sent the login information to me, which did not work. Then I found a place to register on Joomla, but not the home page ( I can't locate that now). Is it possible that the registration of the admin login is supposed to occur on my webserver's end and that when I registered on Joomla it caused the front end and back end logins to become entangled with each other?

Mackenzie, it seems you've hijacked grapplingmonkey's thread....
In any case, could you tell us EXACTLY how Joolma and the template were installed...
E.g., Fantastico install and applied the template, or clean install with the Rocket Launcher, etc...
Also, if things were working fine, exactly at what point did they go wrong? - Thanks,

I followed the RL instructions by uploading the files to the FTP - fully clean install. Even watched the video. The problem was the RT pack did not include the folder or file for appadmin so there was no place to login. I had to get one from another installation and upload it. Now I can login.
Now if I can get my slider images to link to the articles and find out why when I login I get "Error loading feed data" at the top then I would be all good as everything else works beautifully. I'll look on the forum before I bug you about these though.

I don't understand first of all, why an older version of Joomla is included with Rocket Launcher. Secondly, the installer never asks you for a username, only an email or password. I used Rocket Launcher because I wanted to follow a demo site and make the changes as necessary. But after installation, I could not login using 'admin' and the password I supplied.
I had to fix it myself, so here is what I did:
Login to cPanel, go to PHPMyAdmin in the Databases section, then on the left side at top click on your joomla database link 'example_joomla' - Next locate jos_users and find 'admin' (should be only thing there after clean install) Click on the little pencil and find password. It is very important that in the FUNCTION drop-down, you select 'MD5' then input your new password and at the bottom, click GO. This will fix the problem of not being able to login in almost ALL cases after a clean install.
