    • Does anyone know what they best version (or system) of Linux to install as a webserver? I am using a brand-new Rocket Theme template and am trying to the template parameters to change once I hit the "save" or "apply" button.

After reading through the forum, it appears that I should change from the MS 2003 Server to the a Linux server...

So, does anyone know the optimal Linux setup?

      Thanks as always.

    • JEM,
That actually looks great, but we've already got the latest versions of PHP and MySQL (Joomla Compatible version) installed and working beautifully. After reading the forum, I think my parameters problem can be easily fixed by making the switch away from MS 2003 Server to Linux (again, according to this thread-- www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=31..._v=viewtopic#p463369 ).

Here's a link to the thread in regards to my actual problem ( www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=32...94299&rb_v=viewtopic ).

I can hack the template and make it all look just fine, but I think it's best to continue working through this forum to get it resolved... I am very close.

Thanks again for your help. You all are amazing.

    • So is the problem with the parameters.ini?

One work around I've used is to upload the parameter.ini to the host, CHMOD it to 777, and download it again.
    • Thanks,

    • Well, I appreciate your help with the parameters.ini solution, but it didn't appear to be the answer. So, I guess I am going to convert the server from MS 2003 Server to one of the various Linux web servers...

Any thoughts on which one would work best?

    • Hey all,
I have been working on this for quite a while now and am running into a bit of a hurdle. If anyone would know the best possible Linux Server system to run Joomla on, I would greatly appreciate your suggestion.

      Thanks.

    • Hey all,
The Joomla.org folks are telling me that this issue shouldn't be related to a server type of any kind. I feel like I am searching for an answer that is difficult to find.

We are currently running the optimal configuration for Joomla on our servers and are trying to move over to Linux. I just can't figure out what to tell our IT guys about which version of Linux to put on the server, because I really have no idea.

Moreover, the template is beautiful and works perfectly, except when I try to update the site's template look and feel.

I am on my last phase of template implementation and would greatly appreciate any further assistance in regards to this situation.

      Thanks again.
