    url description and messy code

Posted 14 years 11 months ago
    • Hi,

New to using JOOMLA and am getting on ok.

Big question, when I click on the SHOP tab I have in the top menu it takes me to a shop page in Virturemart. Using the MYNXX template and working from the demo content to get changes / site up and running quicker.

The url shown in the web browser reads: .../index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53

I'd like it to read something along the lines of: .../shop or similar. Definitely something that looks less messy.

It's also the same when I click on a product, the length of text shown in the url seems very. very long. One examples is: ...

      index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=9&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=19&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53

Can someone let me know how to change this, where I should be looking or what I'm doing wrong? Have been finding the forum really helpful so far!

      Thanks in advance.

    • Joomla SEF can clean them up but is not real configurable.
Try a few here with the warning not all extensions work 100% with 3rd party SEF.

      Hi Joe,

Just to say thanks for the reply - hadn't been logged in for a while but has just renewed subscription. Joomla SEF from Artio works perfectly! Would also recommend anyone to use EXTPLORER - speeds up the process.

      Thanks,
