Question about demo layout

On the grunge demo, there are two bars at the top of the article. In between the bars are the words "FRONTPAGE ARTICLES" and above the bar the words "DEMO CONTENT". How is this controlled?
Also, what I'm seeing on my page is the site title above the bars. How do I eliminate this?

I solved my question about the titles ... they are controlled by the section and categories.
However, I do not know how to turn off the component heading.
