Blog Menu Item

  • Blog Menu Item

    • When I create a new Category Blog menu item, I get a screen that basically pops out of the template. If I create the menu item for pretty much anything else, it stays in the template.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
      I'm using Joomla 2.5.11 and Grunge 1.2.
I have attached 2 screenshots - one is Catgory Blog layout, the other is Category List layout.

thanks for any help in advance,
      Flip

    • blog articles appear in the mainbody of the template as they should. What were you expecting?

Please post a URL to your site so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

    • I was expecting it to stay in the template, not show a blank page behind the link.
Right now, the site isn't online but I can PM someone a direct link and admin creds to access it. Just let me know who to send the PM to.
I am visually impaired/blind, so what I'm going on is what my screen reader reads and what my wife - who is sighted - sees. My screen reader only reads the one link and my wife tells me that the page that link is on is white and is "broken out" of the template.

      thanks,

    • The "template" is the whole thing that you see so it is in the template.

Please would you PM URL, superuser id and pswd and i'll have a look for you.

Is there anyway you can get your wife to annotate a screengrab for me to show me exactly what you mean. Are you meaning that you want the whole "wood" background to cover the whole page background?

      Regards, Mark.

    • I've established so far that this is something to do with jcomments extension... you are getting a PHP error...

Fatal error: Class 'JCommentsContentPluginHelper' not found in /home/hraworld/public_html/templates/rt_grunge/html/com_content/category/blog_item.php on line 53

      still looking...

    • Ok I have now reproduced this on my test system - so I will raise a bug ticket to have this fixed (please note I can't say how long this will take, and it may be that the error actually is with jcomments).
