SOLVED Afterburner2 Sidebar Placement

    • I've been a member for years and I have to say, Afterburner is one of my absolute favs because of how easy it is to work with and its not bloated at all. That said, one minor edit will make this template perfect for my purposes.

I want to be able to move "sidebar a" to the left and leave "sidebar b & c" to the right.

This will accomplish a 3 column layout

In the older versions, I could edit the index.php to move module positions but can't seem to find where the code lives.

Any help will be very much appreciated

      Thank you!

      David

    • Strangest thing.. Everytime I change those settings, it doesn't take effect. Once I log out of the Template Manager and log back on, the settings are back to the default

What could be preventing the settings from working?

    • If you would like us to take a closer look, you can submit super admin and FTP login info to the "Secure" (NOT "Public") tab of the full reply editor. Only moderators and RT Staff can see that information.

    • Also, I went into the template manager and set the mainbody slider for when 4 columns are present to be sa-mb-sb-sc and saved it. Then refreshed the page and it is still sa-mb-sb-sc. It seems to work just fine.

    • It "saves" but as soon as you come back to the Template panel - I just checked - its back to the full body (see attached) - just refresh the page after save and you'll see it did not take

Here is a page to show sidebara & b:

      www.watteredge.com/mmp_upgrade/index.php...le&id=131&Itemid=742

It just changed to the correct 3 column layout as I was writing it but the panel still shows full main body.

I don't plan on changing it again so this should be OK, I just am confused as to why this is stuck and if it will stay where it is.

Again, thank you so much, this is pretty confusing

    • so it shows the layout for one column because curretnly the default menu item (the Home page) has only one column. But when you select the layout for "4" columsn it shows the sa-mb-sb-sc as it was previously save.

In fact, when I go to the url you provide for the page you have 3 columns in it shows the sidebar A on the left. And when I created a test module in the sidebar C position is shows the layout as saved with sidebar A on the left and Sidebars B and C on the right of the mainbody. (see screenshots)

    • I saw that - thank you very much, I swear, I had been toggling it to the column layout you specified for an hour today and it didn't work until my last message :)

Also didn't know it would reflect the home page. Either way, that will be 3 column as well, so it works across the board!

Thank you again, you really went above and beyond
