    • Hi there,

At present RokNavMenu does not work with Front-End editing. I personally am glad it does not as I am certain some of my clients would severely damage their site navigation otherwise.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. I understand your persective. The reason that I am looking for this feature is that I have one client that is requesting it. I haven't yet been able to find a modern drodown menu extension for Joomla that suports it. Are you aware of any?

      Thanks!

    • Hi there,

I am not aware of any. Just imagine the havoc if the wrong person gained access and changed navigation to external URLs. Probably too big a risk in the eyes of most developers. Yes, they can cause havoc with modules and articles too but at least they can be unpublished while fixed. Navigation is key to the site.

Sorry, but that's the nature of this game. Minimising risk where possible.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Thanks again for the reply. You point about minimizing risk is well taken.

The Front End Module & Menu item setting is disabled by default on Joomla. Also, this can be set to "Front End Module" only, which limits risk to menu items. Further, use of this feature can be limited with the Joomla ACL.

Having worked on 100s of Joomla sites, this is my first time handling a request for this feature, which leads me to believe that either 1) nobody knows about it or 2) nobody cares.

I can certainly see the utility of this feature for end users. Think about how easy it is for novices to edit navigation on Wordpress and hosted web solutions relative to Joomla. IMO, this is the type of feature that should be improved and embraced by Joomla developers. My 2 cents ;)
