Bulk upload of Mosaic entries to database

    • Hi, I have a situation where I need to create a new Mosaic gallery of some several hundred items. All these items already exist in three other Mosaic galleries on the site already. I was able to go directly into the database and export all the existing item data from the roksprocket_items table, change what needed to be changed (new module ID, provider ID and order, and mosaic_item_tags) and append the "new" dataset back into the system. Somewhat to my surprise, it worked! A new Mosaic gallery with 216 new items!

It was too good to be true.

I needed to then go through and individually edit many items tags that couldn't easily be done at an earlier stage. I saved regularly as I went, and it was all going very well till item 116 or thereabouts, when, on trying to save (which had been working fine to this point) Joomla gave an error Error: 500 View not found [name, type, prefix]: default, html, roksprocketView.

I tried deleting this one offending item, but every subsequent one I tried to edit after this gave the same error.

I don't believe I'm the first to try this - what did I miss? It's a local site so can't give a link to show. Any ideas? Existing Mosaic galleries still all work fine, as does the rest of the site. I've tried deleting and recreating my steps, but the error still occurs.

    • You are the first that I am aware of to do this and it's not something that I can recommend. Usually that type of error has one of three causes.

      1. the database is corrupted
      2. a third-party plugin is interfering with the json call that roksprocket makes
      3. There is an empty or corrupted roksprocket module (which might also be in trash) - look for roksprockets that don't have a dataprovider badge on them.

If still no good Please would you post your URL, superuser id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and i'll have a look for you.

      Regards, Mark.
